Toshiba Satellite C600 / 14-inch Notebook review

Toshiba launched a new product that is Satellite C600 Want 14-inch notebook at an affordable price? Toshiba Satellite C600 could be one attractive alternative, especially for entry-level consumer class.

Indeed notebook products on the market today generally have loaded the Intel Core, including those that already apply the Sandy Bridge architecture.

However, most of the price range is still above Rp 4 million. In fact, maybe the consumer's budget in this class, such as students, did not reach that size.

Niche is being targeted by the Toshiba Satellite model C600. Toshiba tricks suppress prices seen from the choice of processors still rely on Intel Pentium Dual T4500/Core 2 Duo T6670, integrated graphics card, 8GB of DDR3 RAM to achieve, and HDD options up to 500GB. Embedded operating system is still Windows 7 starter.

Still, Toshiba's attempt to offer a number of feature as an added attraction, for example: Toshiba Audio Enhancement Technology; High Definition Displays; Toshiba Bulletin Board; and Toshiba ReelTime.

In his press statement, Toshiba does not mention the retail price for the Toshiba Satellite C600. If you look at the specifications, we estimate bandrolnya be under Rp 4 million.

Interestingly, in our search, it turns out the Toshiba Satellite C600 has been launched in markets outside Indonesia since June 2010 or a year ago. Meanwhile, according to the site LetsGoDigital, which is now circulating C600 Toshiba already has a configuration of AMD-based Brazos (C-50 and E-350).

Toshiba Satellite L700 Series Laptop review

The Toshiba Satellite L700 and C600 notebooks come in a variety of sizes and prices designed to meet the varied needs of home users that want a basic computer for $500 or less. While we don’t have the absolute specs for the entry level models it looks like Toshiba will be delivering budget notebooks with a good choice of processors. Typically low end notebooks skimp in the processor choice, which impacts performance for the life of the notebook.


The Toshiba Satellite L700 notebooks will feature the latest 2nd Gen Intel Core i family of processors as well as a new AMD A4 Dual Core and A6 Quad Core AMD Fusion A series processors. The Intel Core i family of processors come with a capable Intel integrated GPU and the AMD Fusion A Series comes with a more powerful AMD Radeon 6000 series GPU for better 3D Graphics performance.

The Satellite C600 notebooks are powered with the AMD Fusion C-50 and AMD Fusion E-350 processor choices which were announced back at CES in January. The E-350 dual core processor is more than capable for many home users based on our testing of similar systems. The C 50 processor will do, but it is a single core CPU, which means less power. If you can afford to bump up to the E-350 when you purchase one of these systems you won’t regret it.

New Toshiba Satellite P750-115 / 15.6-inch Laptop review

With the advent of Intel’s new Sandy Bridge Core i processors, most manufacturers have updated their desktop PC and laptop ranges with new models, and Toshiba is no exception. Today we’re looking at the first of these, the entertainment-oriented, 15.6 inch Satellite P750-115. Sporting a new textured finish, high-end quad-core Core i7 processor, a whopping 8GB of RAM backed by a 640GB hard drive and Nvidia GeForce graphics with 2GB of dedicated RAM as well as a Blu-ray drive, this is clearly a serious contender. The best bit is that it costs under £1,000, so is it worth its asking price?

First let’s take a look at the design, which has altered radically from previous Satellite incarnations. Though Toshiba had already moved away from all-gloss fingerprint magnets such as its Satellite L650 with the lightly textured Satellite A660, this time around the imprint is far more defined. It’s a bamboo-like pattern that adorns most of the lid and inside, leaving just a glossy black lip at the front.

While it’s not the most attractive pattern we’ve seen and isn’t a patch on the organic swirls we last encountered on the HP tm2, it’s still far preferable to a plain glossy lid that shows off dust and fingerprints like nobody’s business.

Unfortunately, on the laptop’s inside that glossy lip is positioned so that it’s impossible to avoid palm-prints, and the keyboard’s glossy finish and touchpad’s chromed buttons will also require regular wiping. However, the Satellite P750 does look quite attractive overall, and the Satellite’s chromed, white-backlit power button is a nice touch. White status LEDs are visible at the laptop’s front even when the machine is closed.Build quality is good overall, though there’s a little more flex than we would ideally like above the keyboard. Though it’s reasonably quiet in light use, when under load the P750-115 does produce an audible hum, though that’s not too surprising considering its high-end (and therefore hot) internals.

Connectivity is about what you would expect for a high-end laptop these days. Along the left there are HDMI and VGA for video, a Gigabit Ethernet port for wired networking, and two USB ports, of the 3.0 and 2.0 varieties, with the former supporting Sleep & Charge to power or charge devices while the laptop is turned off.

On the front we have an SDXC/MMC/xD/MS Pro card reader, while to the right you’ll find a further two USB 2.0 ports, the tray-loading Blu-ray drive and headphone/digital-audio-out plus microphone jacks. The mic output supports Toshiba’s unique Sleep & Music functionality, which we first came across on the NB520. This allows you to use the laptop’s speakers with an external source (like an MP3 player) connected through a 3.5mm jack while the laptop is powered down – for more details, check out page three of our NB520 review.

Finally, the laptop’s wireless connections are comprehensively covered by Wi-Fi N and Bluetooth 3.0. Our only quibble is that we would really have liked to have seen two USB 3.0 ports rather than just one, as this would allow fast data copying between two speedy external drives or memory sticks.[www.whatpakistan.com]

The Toshiba Satellite A665-S5176X is a 15.6-inch laptop that comes with features perfect for multimedia fans. While it may not be the most impressive laptop in its class, its combination of affordable price and a complete feature set make it attractive. The Toshiba Satellite A665-S5176X is available for $699, and it comes with a one-year warranty.

For $699, you get the Satellite A665-S5176X with a 2.1GHz Intel Core i3-2310M processor. This i3 processor is part of the second generation of Intel CPUs and offers solid performance. Granted, you won't get the same type of performance as a laptop with an i5 or i7 processor, but the performance is still up to snuff. Multitasking and performing tasks like checking email, web browsing, taking in multimedia, and light gaming should be no problem. With 4GB of DDR3 SDRAM, you also get a good amount of multitasking help.

The Toshiba Satellite A665-S5176X's graphics are supported by an Intel HD 300 chip. This allows for light gaming, but it won't suffice for anyone seeking an all-out gaming laptop. There's a decent amount of storage in the form of a 500GB hard drive. Battery life is decent, with the 6-cell battery offering up over five hours of usage. Of course, those ratings are not always accurate, so expect less battery life when doing things like viewing videos or gaming. Windows 7 Home Premium Edition 64-bit is the operating system that comes pre-installed.

Beyond the basics, the Satellite A665-S5176X offers some nice extras. The highlight of those extras is the built-in Blu-ray drive that allows you to enjoy the latest in video technology and quality. For internet connectivity, there's fast 802.11n Wi-Fi. Fast media transfers are available thanks to a media reader with support for a wide variety of formats. You also get an integrated webcam and microphone for video chatting.

Toshiba coats the Satellite A665-S5176X in the company's typical Fusion X2 Finish. This charcoal color scheme looks good and has a nice modern edge to it. The laptop may not have the most solid build in its class, but it is far from cheap in its form, either. The Satellite A665-S5176X measures 15 inches wide by 10 inches deep by 1.2 inches thick.

The 15.6-inch widescreen TruBrite display has a resolution of 1,366 x 768. It's not the greatest display in the world, but it should suffice for most of your needs. The integrated Harmon Kardon speakers, on the other hand, are superb. They offer plenty of volume to ensure that you can watch movies and listen to music without the need for headphones.

The Satellite A665-S5176X's keyboard is large and features island-style keys. Typing on it is enjoyable, and you also get a separate number pad. Above the keyboard is a row of backlit controls for media, Wi-Fi, etc. Like the keyboard, the touch pad is large and responsive. Connectivity is one of the laptops strong points. Included in the laptop's connectivity options are a VGA port, a HDMI port, a USB 2.0 port, a USB 3.0 port, two eSATA/USB combo ports, an Ethernet port, and microphone and headphone jacks.

You will want to shop around first before going ahead and purchasing the Satellite A665-S5176X, but it should be one of your finalists in the mainstream laptop category.
