Gateway has launch new laptop namely, Gateway ID47. The ID47H02u which powered by features a 14-inch display into a compact chassis. The edge-to-edge glass look is pretty stunning, and you have your choice of two color options: Infinity Blue Liquid and Brushed Platinum. The lid is aluminum, and there’s a black trackpad that extends all the way to the edge of this 4.6-pound system. In other words, the ID47 is a looker.

Above the keyboard is a swooping speaker that’s powered by Dolby Audio. But this thin-and-light has more than just audio oomph. The NV55 features AMD’s new Fusion APU, which combines the CPU and GPU on a single chip. This, according to AMD, will provide increased graphics performance without affecting battery life (too much). Its 6-cell, 4,400-mAh battery should provide up to 4 hours of runtime. The NV55 will start at $529; for that, you get a 1.4-GHz AMD Quad-Core A6-3400M APU, 4GB of RAM, AMD RAdeon 6520G graphics, and a 500GB hard drive.

Both notebooks will come with USB 3.0 ports, as well as Gateway’s social media button, which gives users instant access to their Facebook, Twitter, and Flickr accounts, and a Gateway MyBackup button, which does pretty much what it says. Gateway LT22 / 11.6 inch Notebook review

Gateway has launched its the LT32 notebook, which is basically a rebranded version of the Acer Aspire One 722 11.6 inch laptop with a 1.7GHz AMD Athlon II Neo K125 CPU and ATI Radeon HD 4225 graphics. But it looks like Gateway also has a 10.1 inch model in its arsenal, dubbed the Gateway LT22.

The new model is basically the same machine as the Acer Aspire One 521 netbook which I recently reviewed. On the inside it’s virtually identical to the LT32, but the LT22 has a smaller 10.1 inch, 1024 x 600 pixel display instead of an 11.6 inch 1366 x 768 pixel screen. It also has a smaller chassis and keyboard.

The LT22 also ships with Windows 7 Starter Edition while the LT32 comes with Windows 7 Home Premium. They’re available now in Canada for $350 and $450 respectively. The Gateway LT32 is also available in the US for $450, but there’s still no word on a US launch date or price for the Gateway LT22.[liliputing.com]

New Gateway M-series/15.4 Laptops Review

Ringing in at around $780, the Gateway M-7818u is tricky. It sure looks a lot like the Samsung X460, with its stylish red accents. But, the comparisons stop right there. Beyond a flashy coat, the M-7818u is a clunker.

The first thing to realize is that the M-7818u is a special configuration on the Gateway M-series made only for Office Max. Yep. Office Max. Friends, if you are going to Office Max to buy a computer. Well, you shouldn’t be.

Before anything else, this is a budget model notebook, and it shows with the specs. While the fairly standard Gateway configuration of nice components make up the heart of the machine — a 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 GB of RAM — that’s about where the sexy stuff ends. In tests, Laptop Magazine found the M-7818u to be fast on boot and application launch, but molasses slow when it came to multi-tasking. And, for a everyday consumer’s home notebook, with internet browsing and music needed at the same time, multitasking is a necessity.

With the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD, don’t expect fast, current gameplay either. Sorry.

So, if it’s not good at multi-tasking or gameplay, why woulnd’t you just buy a netbook instead?
