Fujitsu LifeBook A6210 15.4 inch Laptops Review

Fujitsu LifeBook A6210 15.4 inch Laptops Review
Fujitsu is a fine maker of quality laptops. I've always felt that they were a class above Toshiba, Acer, and other similarly branded laptop brands. Indeed, you will find the quality of components they use is top-class - kind of similar to Sony.

In this article, we will take a look at the Fujitsu LifeBook A6210 laptop. This is one of the latest laptops to come out equipped with Intel's latest Penryn processor.

It comes with the latest Intel processor technology, along with 3GB of RAM and above-the-mark features. If you can overlook the slightly short battery life, the Fujitsu LifeBook A6210 is a good laptop to consider buying.

1. Overview

First up, let's take an overall view of the Fujitsu LifeBook A6210. This machine comes with an Intel Penryn processor, loads of RAM and wonderful features. One of the good things you get from Fujitsu is it's direct channel. Here, you can add or subtract features from your laptop (much like how Dell or HP does it).

2. Design

Next, let's have a look at the design. The Fujitsu LifeBook A6210 comes as an updated version of the LifeBook A6030. You will find that the gray of the exterior is now darkened. The look of the machine is kinda clunky, but it is quite light at 6.2 pounds. While it cannot compare to the Apple MacBook pro 15-inch (which weighs 5.5 pounds), it is definitely decent enough in terms of size and weight.

3. Display

The display screen on the Fujitsu LifeBook A6210 is an ample 15.4 inches and allows you to watch movies and play games very comfortably. The color reproduction is crisp and sharp, and you'll have no complaints with image resolution or clarity.

3. Keyboard and Other Controls

The keyboard on the Fujitsu LifeBook A6210 is very nice to type on. If you've used the Dell M1530 before, however, you will find the LifeBook A6210 to be slightly less responsive. However, it is still a great keyboard nonetheless.

4. Ports and Connections

There are ample ports on the Fujitsu LifeBook A6210. You get 5 USB ports, a FireWire port, S-Video, a VGA-out and 802.11a/g network connectivity. You will also like the integrated webcam, as well as multiple expansion slots. For digital photo buffs, there's a nice four-in-one card reader that takes Secure Digital, xD, Memory Stick and Memory Stick Pro modules.

5. Battery Life

The 43-Wh battery in the Fujitsu LifeBook A6210 is not very spectacular in terms of life. Studies have shown it lasts for only about 3 hours. You might want to invest in a separate battery or bring a full-charged battery each time you are out and about using this laptop.

6. Shortcomings

Besides the clunky look of the laptop, the Fujitsu LifeBook A6210 is also a tad on the expensive side. Another small gripe is the lack of 802.11n network connectivity support. If you're looking for more bang for your buck, two interesting competing laptops to consider include the Dell XPS M1530 and HP Pavilion dv6500t.Fujitsu LifeBook A6210 15.4 inch Laptops Review Conclusion

The Fujitsu LifeBook A6210 is a tad expensive for its feature set, but it does provide strong competition against Dell and HP. You find the latest Intel processing technology, along with 3GB of RAM and above-the-mark features. If you can overlook the slightly short battery life, the Fujitsu LifeBook A6210 is a good laptop to consider buying.

The Fujitsu LifeBook A6210's $1,349 price tag may seem a bit high for a midsize laptop, especially considering that many similarly sized systems cost less than $1,000. But the Fujitsu has a number of features that help justify the higher price: namely, a built-in Blu-ray drive, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470 graphics (designed for high-definition video), and an HDMI port, all of which let the laptop double as a Blu-ray player. To those, Fujitsu adds Bluetooth and wireless USB connections, a gesture-enabled touch pad, and an eSATA port. That feature set remains unmatched in the midsize category (though the $1,249 HP Pavilion dv5-1015nr comes close). While we're still not sure how large the market for a 15-inch Blu-ray-equipped laptop is, we do think the LifeBook A6210 is a decent choice for people who want to balance typical computer work with a fair amount of high-def media consumption. However, those who can live without the Blu-ray player would be better served by the $979 Dell Studio S1535-125B.

Fujitsu-Siemens Lifebook S6510 / 14.1-inch Laptop Review

Fujitsu-Siemens Lifebook S6510 / 14.1-inch Laptop Review
When most people think about a business laptop they don’t think about an ultraportable also. The Fujitsu Lifebook 6510 may just change your minds about this though. Weighing in at only 4 lbs. this ultraportable notebook sports and 14.1-inch” widescreen, a 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T7700 cpu, 2Gb ram. Fujitsu has accomplished something here that many notebook manufacturers have not. A fast ultraportable with enough power to run today’s high end business applications.

Overall the notebook is sleek in its design, from the wide 14.1-inch screen to its dvd burner. This model also comes equipped with a 1.3 mega pixel web cam. The 120 Gig hard drive is adequate for business class notebooks.

The system offers up 3 usb ports and a firewire along with an s video jack on the front next to the headpone and microphone jacks. It also boasts all of your legacy ports that include Vga, Ethernet and a modem.

Fujitsu also included adequate security measures in this notebook. Including a fingerprint reader, Smartcard reader, and TPM (Trusted Platform Module) makes this a nice notebook for security and speed. The only thing it doesn't have is cellular broadband, which is important if you're on the road most of the time and require a ubiquitous wireless connection. Otherwise, you can use the built-in WiFi.

Putting low voltage processors in notebooks is being done by a lot of manufactures now to trim weight, not only because they have a smaller footprint, but also the consume less energy. The other side to this is that as you load applications on them they tend to slow down and not have enough power to do what you need them to. This is not the case with the Fujitsu Lifebook S6510, the 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T7700 is the kind of processor found in desktop replacement laptops. The 2Gb ram is necessary to run Windows Vista Business.

Looks like the fans inside of this notebook are also top notch as the highest temperature rating was 85 degrees Fahrenheit. The only problems I see in this notebook are the keys are a little mushy and it doesn’t have discreet graphics. The discreet graphics are not a big deal to those looking for a business notebook.

Battery life is also good measuring 3 hours and 45 on a single charge. You may remove the dvd drive and add an extra battery and this will put it into the 6 hour range according to Fujitsu.

All in all this is a great notebook for the price ($2,039 direct) and will be a serious competitor to those looking for a great business class notebook. I give this particular notebook an eight on my geek-o-meter. Great options and great performance just some minor annoyances.

Fujitsu Lifebook 6510 Specification :

Fujitsu P-2000 Laptops Review

Fujitsu P-2000 Laptops Review
The Fujitsu Lifebook P-2000 is one of the few widely available Crusoe-based notebooks in North America, and one which has generated quite the cult following for its size, battery life and wickedly well suited display for DVD's. Under the hood, is Transmeta's current flagship processor, the 867MHz TM5800 Crusoe.

Since this is also the notebook we use behind the sceens, we are going to be offering a few guides here to help out with upgrades, software and tweaks to get the best performance possible. There are already a considerable amount of resources on the P-2000 located at www.leog.net as well. For the official word on specs, visit Fujitsu's website.

So lets get started with the first Fujitsu P-2000 guide about how to upgrade the subnotebooks memory.

1.) How much extra memory can you add to the on board 256MB?

The current model of the Fujitsu P-2000 only accepts one, 128MB microDIMM memory module.

2.) What kind of memory do you need?

Full sized notebooks typically allow you to expand their memory with one 144-pin SO-DIMM module of SDRAM. Single and double spindle subnotebooks like the Fujitsu P-2000 don't have as much room to spare inside and so the tiny SO-DIMM modules aren't practical. Instead, these small notebooks use 144-pin microDIMM's. Essentially, these sticks of memory have a condensed PCB which crams the four TSOP-II memory chips into a more efficient piece of real estate.

In the image below we have the two sticks set up side-by-side for comparisons sake. Both types of DIMM have 144-pins, but they are in no way compatible. So, to recap, the Fujitsu P-2000 uses 144 pin microDIMM memory (bottom module).

3.) Where can you find the right memory for the P-2000?

For this guide we went right to Crucial.com to pick up a 128MB 144-pin microDIMM module (Crucial Part No.CT253602) of PC133 CAS3 SDRAM. That's the exact description of the memory, but you can just click this link to go there directly.

The Fujitsu P-2000 is limited to just one 128MB expansion module, so even if you can find a 256MB microDIMM chances are it won't fit, or it won't work. Smaller 64MB memory modules are also available, but there really isn't any point in upgrading half way is there? Let's Begin...

Fujitsu LifeBook N7010 Laptops Review

Fujitsu LifeBook N7010 Laptops Review
The new computer is a dual screen laptop. While flip phones have a main display and an external one showing missed calls, messages and the time, this laptop model keeps the large screen and adds a very small display of just 4 inches at the top of the dust-filter, spill-resistant keyboard keyboard. It is called the Touch Zone because it features touch-sensitivity and is meant to display the shortcuts to different controls and applications, enhancing productivity.
The main display measures 16 inches, an untypical size for laptop screens, and uses the Crystal View Display technology, which enhances the image quality with more brightness and richer colors.

Fujitsu LifeBook N7010 : is the world’s first dual screen laptop, both displays working simultaneously. The example given by Fujitsu sounds cool and you got to hear it. While you are working on a project on the 16-inch screen you ask for instruction via instant messaging, using the 1.3MP web camera and the built-in microphone, on the small screen.
Other functions you can control by touching the small display include CD/DVD, picture slide shows, or you can just launch applications.

The dual screen laptop has a processing power of 2.26GHz via an Intel Core 2 Duo P8400 and features also Blu-ray ROM optical drive for High Definition content,HDMI connectivity for compatible TVs, an ATI Radeon HD 3470 graphics card with 256MB GDDR3 dedicated memory, support for 2GB hypermemory card slot, E-Sata port, wireless N support, touchpad with gesture control, Bluetooth, and shock-mounted hard drive.
